Tips for the cleanest cutout

What to watch for

Shadows cast by the product onto the backdrop are part of the "background" and will be removed. If you need soft product shadows for depth or realism, add them back in your design software after the cutout.

Highly reflective or metallic items can be challenging — the product surface reflects backdrop colour, which confuses the model. A dark, matte backdrop tends to work better for shiny products than white.

Can I use this for Amazon product listings?

Amazon requires the main image on pure white (RGB 255,255,255), not transparent. Can I use this for jewellery or reflective items?

Reflective and metallic surfaces partially mirror the backdrop, which the model may interpret as part of the background.
